The Gator Reflects on His Career as Guest on Momentum: A Motorsports Podcast
WAVERLY, W. Va. – One of the most recognizable personalities in ATV racing, Adam McGill has competed professionally for more than 20 years and achieved 19 Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) overall wins. In addition to his performance on the track, he has always kept it fun for the fans. Today, “The Gator” announces his plans for 2026 on the latest episode of Momentum: A Motorsports Podcast, which includes retirement from professional racing.
McGill said his passion for the fan community ultimately shaped the timing of his decision.
“The fan relationship to me has kept me in the sport so much longer than my performance side has,” said Adam McGill. “I noticed I got more enjoyment out of helping others win. That’s when it became evident that I was getting to the end of my performance side. The next step might be even bigger and more impactful than the performance side.”

“Some of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made have been the best ones,” said McGill. “It’s not a retirement race; it’s a tour. I want to hear other people’s stories — the memories they have with me.”
McGill invites all fans and supporters to join him at the races in 2026 and thanks his sponsors for their continued support, including OBOR, Moose Racing, Parts Unlimited, Lonestar Racing and Leatt.
