Phoenix Racing Rider Claims Second in 450A and Fourth in Pro Sport
NASHPORT, Ohio – Phoenix Racing’s Jayden Londerville went 1-1 to capture the Production A overall win in Nashport, Ohio, at the ATV Motocross National Championship Series (ATVMX), an AMA National Championship. He was runner-up in 450A and tallied fourth overall in the Pro Sport at Briarcliff MX. Saturday’s track conditions were ideal with temperatures in the mid 70s, but overnight rain brought muddy conditions for Sunday’s races.

Getting a mid-pack start, Londerville went to work to pass several riders. He climbed to fourth by the second lap, before losing his brakes. With the added challenge, he dropped to fifth before crossing the finish line.
Prior to the second moto, the team made some changes to the front-end of his Yamaha YFZ 450R to address the mechanical issue experienced in Moto 1. Unfortunately, shortly after the moto started, he lost his brakes again. Despite that, he made his way into fourth and held steady throughout the remainder of the race. His 5-4 scores earned him fourth overall at Round 7.

Londerville blasted into the lead off of the start and began creating a gap on the rest of the field. However, on the second lap, his machine began to emit smoke. Since he had a good lead, Londerville made the decision to take it easy and save the bike. He cruised across the finish line to take the win.
Once again putting his machine into the lead out of the gate, Londerville comfortably settled into the lead spot in Moto 2. He rode comfortably out front until he took the checkered flag. His 1-1 results secured him the overall win.
450A
With a mid-pack start, Londerville battled to get up to fourth by the end of the first lap. He continued to push, making his way into second by the second lap. By the next lap, he had made the pass into the lead. Determined to pull away from his competitors, he set the fastest lap of the race at 01:41.683 with one lap to go.
The second 450A moto had no shortage of slick track conditions. Londerville had a tough start, coming out around 13th. Battling the mud, he made a lot of passes to put himself into fourth by the third lap. By that point, Londerville had used all of his tear-offs and had to shed his goggles to have any sort of vision. The third-place rider ahead of him had pulled a gap. Although Londerville was able to catch up to him, he wasn’t able to get around him before the checkered flag waved. His 1-4 results gave him second overall in Ohio.
“This weekend went decent considering the mechanical problems that we had,” said Jayden Londerville. “I feel like I had really good speed all weekend. I just had some problems that stopped me from doing as well as I should have.”
With three rounds remaining in the series, Londerville continues to sit second in the Pro Sport standings. With five podium finishes in the 450A class this season, Londerville is stretching his points lead. He also jumped from fourth to second in Production A.
The 10-round series continues on July 2-3 at Pleasure Valley Raceway in Seward, Pennsylvania.
