Phoenix Racing Rider Earns Fourth Overall in Pro Sport and Production A Classes

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – Phoenix Racing’s Jayden Londerville battled adverse conditions while achieving a bump in points for Pro Sport and Production A, and continuing to hold the lead in 450A, at the ATV Motocross National Championship Series (ATVMX), an AMA National Championship. After a few-year hiatus, the series returned to Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, Indiana, with extreme heat and storms altering track conditions drastically throughout the weekend.

Londerville captured fourth overall in Pro Sport. In the first moto, he had to work his way from ninth off of the line. As he reached fourth position just under the halfway mark, he continued to put in fast laps. However, he was unable to make up enough time to catch the leaders, who had stretched their gap, and took the checkers in fourth.

With the rain pouring down on the track prior to the second moto, Londerville had to overcome less-than-ideal track conditions. Not getting the best jump out of the gate, he had to fight his way through the pack again. He picked off riders one by one to reach fourth just past halfway through the race. He held steady and captured fourth at the finish.

Production A
The Wausau, Wisconsin, rider secured fourth overall after going 9-1 in Production A. Encountering a hard first moto in the rain, he had a tough start from the back of the pack. By the second lap, he had made it up to fifth. On the next lap, a mishap by Londerville resulted in him losing nearly half a minute. He remounted and tried to catch up to the front again. He, ultimately, had to settle for ninth.

For the second moto, he had a better start aboard his Yamaha YFZ 450R – heading into the first turn around fifth. By the end of the first lap, he had pushed into second and was battling to overtake the lead. He scored the fastest lap of the race – a 02:02.837 – on the second lap and made a swift move to get around the leader. Londerville stretched the lead after that.

450A
Taking both moto wins in 450A, Londerville claimed the overall victory. In Moto 1, he put himself into a podium position off of the start. By the next lap, he had pushed into the lead and set the fastest lap time of the race at 02:01.605. He quickly pulled away from the rest of the field to finish more than 17 seconds ahead.

In the second moto, he rocketed his machine out of the gate to snatch the holeshot. Also setting the fastest lap of the race in the second moto, at 02:07.152, his strong pace helped him leave his competition behind. He took the checkered flag just over 19 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.

“It was a tough weekend with changing track conditions,” said Jayden Londerville. “I wanted to score better than fourth for Pro Sport, but I’m happy to move up to second in points after this round. I’ve been consistent in 450A this year and am happy to continue leading the points while also moving in the right direction for Production A.”

Five rounds remain in the series. Londerville’s performance over the weekend moves him up to second in points for Pro Sport. With two overall wins in the 450A class this season, Londerville continues to lead the points. He is now tied for fifth in Production A.

The 10-round series continues on May 28-29 at Sunset Ridge MX in Walnut, Illinois.
