The Evolution of Riding Gear

Clint and myself are joined by Joanne Donn – Founder of GearChic. We chat about how she got into motorcycling and the creation of GearChic.com. Plus, we talk riding apparel and the significant advancements in gear options over the years.

But first, Clint and I cover the announcement of three-time World Champion Kenny Roberts becoming a team owner for the 2025 MotoAmerica Talent Cup and winningest AFT Singles rider Kody Kopp transitioning to roadracing on Roberts’ team.

“I’m very practical about motorcycling. I have rules. Like, I have very personal rules that I follow for myself. And that was a recommendation from a really good friend of mine, Alisa Clickenger, on how to stay safe, and how to keep yourself from getting hurt, but also keeping it fun.

And one of my rules is the minute I feel like I’m not having a good time is when I shouldn’t be riding, because it’s already mental and mentally draining to ride. Really technical riding. Right when you’re doing switchbacks and hair pins with decreasing radiuses, and those are already challenging in and of itself.

And then you have to layer in, ‘Well, I gotta finish this in eight hours. Well, gotta finish. Gotta make sure I keep up there.’ “
