Supporting Racing Clubs and Promoters, Growing Youth Programs and Announcing Events
Clint and myself are joined by Kenny Held – Owner of Row 5 Productions. He’s also an AMA Off-Road Commission member and AMA Referee.
Kenny provides valuable insight into organizing motorcycle events, emphasizing the importance of youth programs. We also discuss the rising presence of electric bikes in off-road racing and the challenges that come with trying to integrate them into the current format.
“I’ve gone to races where there’s no announcing, and it’s almost like. It’s like a field meet. Is there is there a race going on here? You don’t know what’s going on. And I’m not just saying just for Row 5 Productions and announcing.
It’s just in general, my gosh, you need to have some sort of announcing going on, even if it’s just, like, a couple of 15 inch speakers need a scoring trailer or if you have it, facility wide, so people know what’s going on.
People like to hear their kids names, you know, oh, here comes such and such. He’s on lap three. He just shaved 4 seconds off his lap time. mAnd the the parents, like, they just said my son’s name. You’d be amazed what that does at an event.”
