This week, Heather and Clint speak with Zac Herrin – Race Day Announcer for National Events. As an announcer for Racer TV/GNCC, AMA Arenacross, Bagger Racing League and beyond, Zac recounts how he turned his conversational personality and passion for racing into a career where he travels the country calling race action.
“Going back to the basics of my craft made me realize that I was making simple little mistakes that I could point out to for somebody else, but didn’t think about myself. When you apply that same kind of philosophy to announcing… you’ve got your staples, if you will — you can always talk about how great of a day it is to be racing. I don’t care if it’s cold and pouring rain, it’s still a great day to be racing. So you can talk about that, talk about the way the track’s developing — and be honest, good or bad. But it’s not just the track’s good. Why is the track good? What are you seeing?”
