“What does it take to prep a bike to go at those kind of speeds?”

Heather Wilson – Co-host

“Oh, my goodness. Well, there are different classes. My motorcycles prepare and compete in the 1000 CC class. And the easiest way to answer about preparing them is that there’s very little on the bike that hasn’t been touched or tweaked for top speed. On my nitrous bike, there are about five things on the bike that are stock, and everything else has been modified in one way or another.

The frame is stock, the wheels are stock. My foot pegs are stock. Just about every, everything else has been optimized, because when we’re competing, we’re not just competing against the person next to us on a track. We’re competing against history, and sometimes we’re competing against ourselves. And so it’s quite a bit of preparation. I’m really not exaggerating when I say it’s 51 weeks of prep and one week of racing, and it’s a labor of love, for sure.”
